 Pluto was born from under the roots of an old and decrepit tree that was fed for thousands of years on a single beacon of light in an underground cave. It was far enough underground that when he hatched, Pluto was unable to fly to surface level on his own undeveloped wings.

The first few weeks of his life, he survived on what the tree gave him - fruits, but mostly the birds that would come to eat them. Climbing, as it turned out, was much easier than flying. He dressed himself in their bones, developing an eye for color and design, and was eventually able to claw himself to the surface. Pluto lived hidden among the nearby forest trees until he met an unruly skydancer with an imagination too big for his own head.

Pluto isn't social and doesn't like overly bright light. He hides in the shadows behind the mighty pillars, occasionally planting seeds in hopes that one day they will grow into trees.
