Silk Worker & Merchant

Frankly, she didn't even want to be here. Some sick twist of fate—did she mention fate having a sick sense of humor?—landed her outside of her original Water home, which was what she wanted, yes, since she was searching for a decent, civilized place to start her own silk shop. She even had the supplies to begin the endeavor, but instead of finding a sprawling city, Makari found a spit of a village instead. Now, starting out as the sole silk worker in the area had been entirely appealing, and excellent idea, especially since the place had plans of expanding and growing. If it hadn’t been for that Guardian Daedalus who in just one glance suddenly declared her his Charge. His Charge! This battle-worn, scarred, smelly, brute started hovering around her shop and ruining her wares with his stench. And even worse, if she decided to leave, he threatened to leave with her. There was no escaping his critical, cold eye. Makari couldn’t have imagined a worse circumstance, but she was determined to at least whip him into shape concerning his visits—no armor, must be clean, don’t touch anything—so there could remain some semblance of peace in her now miserable existence.

Other than that, she looks forward to the challenges of asserting herself as Thorim Rift’s number one silk merchant, being the first and all, she has high standards for herself and others, and is more than happy to meet them while others fail.

Despite her often snooty attitude, Makari is actually quite friendly, which will be a necessary trait to become the forerunner of the silk trade in this region. Her passion truly rests in silks and the commerce thereafter in selling silks, in matching others with their perfect scarf or sash, and testing the limits of what can be done with this exquisite fabric.

She truly does despise Daedalus, and the same can be said of him, too, so she just doesn’t understand why he won’t leave her alone. Well, alright, she knows why, but WHY?
