"It was too Dangerous for Him to Show Himself to Others" Sunset Lasher Green Birdskull Headdress Copper Steampunk Vest Maddox is one of the oldest members of the Mythics. He joined shortly after Karale created the clan. Before joining, however, Maddox lived a hard life. He grew up with a group of five dragons, his family, and they were Magic Makers and Potions Masters, very dangerous and unstable dragons. Maddox was raised to be a Potions Master since his sibling before him had been made into a Magic Maker. Maddox flourished in potions, they quickly became a huge part of his life, himself. But his family lived miles from the nearest village and Maddox soon grew lonely as his parents got older less social with his siblings.
One day, Maddox ventured to the village, although it was forbidden by his parents for him to ever go there. They never gave him a reason why, so he went. At first, the dragons welcomed him with open arms, happy for some new company and Maddox seemed very kind and a good friend. Until he brought up the idea of potion making. Fear ran across the dragon's expressions and they snarled at him and whipped their tails across his scales, injuring him deeply. Shocked, Maddox created an explosive potion with a mere thought.
Instead of blowing up the dangerous potion, Maddox fled from the village, from his family, from everything. He didn't believe it was possible for him to just create potions with his mind like that. It was dangerous, what would happen if he accidentally killed a whole group of dragons? He came to the conclusion that he would just have to abandon all things that had any trace of potion making. But he couldn't bring himself to do it. Potions were his life, they were part of him.
Maddox figured he would just have to live alone now. No contact with any other dragons. It was too dangerous, too risky. So he lived for months alone, creating food potions and drink potions with thoughts, learning the limits of his ability. Soon, he mastered his strange power, but he still believed it was too dangerous for him to show himself to others, especially if they were going to attack him like that. That was, until he stumbled into a small camp with a few other dragons.
These new dragons regarded him warily. At the sound of approaching clawsteps from deeper in the camp, all heads turned. A completely obsidian dragon came into view. A lightning dragon, by the looks of her eyes. She was without a doubt the alpha of the clan, and a very intimidating alpha at that. She questioned Maddox and he said he would be on his way shortly. But the alpha, Karale, asked him to join her Water flight clan, the Mythics. Maddox revealed what he was and what he could do, he braced himself for pain but instead Karale smiled and still welcomed him into her clan. Thankful, Maddox joined the Mythics, becoming the Potions Master. Still, he worries about what happened to his family and if he would ever see them again.
