What're you doing up here? If my mates see that you made it past Goliath, he won't be letting you off so easily. Don't play blind either, you know where you are. You just don't know what pirates do to unsuspecting dragons. I'll tell you though, we'll stuff you in a barrel, tie that barrel to a heavy rock, and drop you in the sea!
No, no, I'm pulling your tail, sort of. Depends on who you're talking to. I'm going to "escort" you off the ship so neither you nor Goliath have to deal with anything. Just don't say anything about it. I usually only help my mates and not some soft-palmed landlover like you. So, tell me, what news is there from the mainland? What flights are at each others' throats and where do pirates stand in your ears right now?

History

Hatched alongside one other sibling Ripley was quickly sold from her birth clan.
"This young Mirror has always dreamed of being a pirate.
Brought into the Leaping Water Clan at a young age, she was fascinated by the tales of Pirates sailing beyond the lands of the Eleven, pillaging and plundering from coastal clans. She wanted to be a part of that, to fight alongside a crew against other dragons, to sail the open seas.
That dream stuck with her into adulthood, even as she went about tasks like hunting for the clan.
The clan would take in shipwrecked sailors and half drowned wanderers who'd gotten caught in storms, but never in her life had she seen an actual pirate. Until one day the clan leader returned with a shadowy Mirror who had just come from a pirate ship. Oh she'd pestered him until he finally agreed to show her what it was like to be a pirate. She was taught the basics and how to handle a cutlass, and she was eager to learn.
She learned quickly, until there was nothing left that the other was willing- or patient enough, to teach her."
Time and the kindness of the Leaping Water's leader, Xander, found Ripley being sold once again. Once she'd discovered where she was going, Ripley barely took the time to say her goodbyes for she had been sold to pirates.
She arrived just as the ship was finishing its final preparations for a long voyage. While she had been taught a few things about being a pirate nothing had prepared her for the work and characters aboard the ship. Within days her foreclaws were worked blistered and raw and nights left her sore and stiff as they had little nesting material to spare. Her former clan was kind and caring whereas the pirates were rough and insensitive. It took her some time before she started to discover her niche in the scheme of the ship. Often, she was ordered to stay in the crow's nest and her watchful eyes proved useful when the ship had been sailing in icy waters.
Her "rite of passage" came when the crew made for a coastal Earth clan. Initially, she froze with fright when they'd made the attack. What brought her to her claws was when a tundra attacked her. She was quick to defend herself using tactics Alibi had taught her before she started to fight offensively.
The tundra was driven to defeat but Ripley didn't kill him. The battle brought out energy that the mirror didn't realize she had and she adapted quickly.
The clan won and drove back the pirates but Ripley didn't feel the sense of defeat the rest of the crew did. She felt alive.
Ripley's sharp eyes and alertness saw the large ship (sometimes narrowly) avoiding natural dangers in the waters. They were given extra time to prepare for storms and she spotted dragons along the coast before the rest of the crew. Within time, she learned that they'd nicknamed her "Little Seeker" despite being larger than most of the other mirrors on board.
The lengthy time at sea saw Keikyokuka instigating a fight with Ripley. Her sword was flung overboard in the midst of it and Keikyokuka fought her until she was forced to yield. When the spiral didn't stop, Kholin intervened.
The mirror was left with a badly injured foreleg, wounded pride, and a strong dislike for the spiral. She was forced to fight with her claws, something she wasn't used to doing, until she managed to find a used cutlass among a clan's hoard.
Ripley spends much of her time in the crow's nest observing everything she can. Her occasional boredom sees her singing chanteys. During other times Dreyon occupies her hearing with various stories to get away from being assigned tasks. It's been muttered that he developed an interest in the mirror but neither Ripley nor Dreyon have shown interest in each other.
After Keikyokuka's attack, Kholin has kept a watchful eye on Ripley. He's protected her in combat but never utters a word afterwards.
When Razik] led a mutiny against Captain Firefeather Ripley fought to defend her captain but the odds were against them. The dragons they fought had once been allies and were among the more dangerous of the crew. Ripley had almost died that night after she had been backed against the side of the ship fighting two other mirrors but Kholin intervened and sent one of them over ship before mutilating the other dragon. The battle saw them fighting side by side with Kholin trying to protect Ripley at the cost of his own hide.
When things started to take a turn for the worst Kholin roared for his charge to flee the ship, a last attempt at keeping her alive but Ripley didn't leave without urging the guardian to join her. They fled over the side of the ship and off into the darkness of the surrounding night as far as their wings would carry them.
Both weary and injured, they ended up on a trader ship as the sun started to climb over the side of the world. Had Ripley not warned the alarmed captain of the ship they had fled from the pair might not have lived to see port at the end of the trader ship's voyage. With Kholin too injured to fly, they requested staying aboard the ship for the time being and it wasn't long before Ripley had an idea of who to turn to once they reached port.
