Magnamus

When Magnamus was just a hatchling, his father brought him to fight in the Coliseum often. Magnamus hated it, but he was influenced to be a fighter in this way.

However, Magnamus became vicious. He often felt as if he NEEDED to fight, as if he wanted to hurt someone. He could never control his temper, and so his mother and father decided to sell him to another lair to calm him down.

This just made his temper worse. However, Folia, a kind guardian, saw the pain Magnamus was in and decided to take him home. There, he met all sorts of dragons.

One day, Magnamus was very angry. He started to punch trees, tear out flowers, uproot vegetables. His mind was unable to think, his vision was filled with red, his heart was beating out of his chest. He could not stop attacking everything around him.

Then he felt a tap on his shoulders. At first, he ignored it. But it was constant. Tap. Tap. Finally he turned around. There was the female coatl he had seen earlier. She looked right into his eyes and said, "Don't be angry."

And immediately he felt as if a wave of calmness washed over him, and he stopped tearing at things and focused on her face. It was filled with concern and calmness.

"I'm Aquamare. Here," she said, "I'll show you how to be less angry."

She then took Magnamus's claw and dragged him to a small clearing, with a large tree in the middle. Under the tree were piles of books.

"Why don't you read one? I think you'll like this one." She handed him a book.

He could not speak, so all he did was open the book, sit down, and begin to read. Aquamare picked up a book and sat down next to him and started reading as well.

And this was what they did for the next couple weeks.

Then, one night, Magnamus suddenly started seething with rage at nothing. He had never felt rage like that before. He hurried to the clearing and picked up a book to read, but when he tried to read, he was so mad that the words never entered his mind. He did not know what to do. He NEEDED Aquamare to help him.

He flew all over the forest looking for her. Finally, he found her picking some flowers near her home. At that moment, that second, when he had saw her, he realized how much she meant to him. She had saved him from self-destruction.

Quick as lightning, he flew over to her and buried her within his wing. And he began to cry. Aquamare, who had been caught by surprise, was overjoyed and began to cry as well.

And they became soulmates that night. As anyone in the clan can tell you, they are inseparable.

Magnamus realized his love for reading, and soon read so much that he began dressing like a noble. He and Aquamare often gather under that very tree in the clearing to read books.
