Firespirit

Hey have you heard? The story of the haunted stones? They grant wishes did you know. Anything the caster wants, gold, love, power that can ruin many lives... But nothing comes for free, a price must be paid. Any said to find a stone were seen again after making a wish. Rumors came about so a spirit took them and are now they are hidden from sight so no more deeds could be done. Collectors all over Sornieth have searched for them. Some for greed, some want the fame of finding one, while some may search for a deeper reason.

Deep inside some ruins shined on by heaven's light a wildclaw is reading a paper, something she does daily, yet nothing shocking has come from it for a while; until today. One of the locations of the stones has been found inside a deep jungle. It waits. She slams the now crumpled paper on the oak wood table, dashing for her satchel and darting outside her cave decorated in the jewels and stones she treasures so deeply making her room look like a rainbow of stones which attracts the rest of the clan to visit her den quite often. Her running down the path wasn't a rare sight in the clan, her eyes gleaming clearly showing that she has found something new to add to her stash.

Skidding to a halt she runs up to her loves house banging on the door as she jumps around; a groggy jack makes his way there nearly stumbling a few times on his way there as she becomes inpatient and starts knocking rapidly to make him hurry up. Answering the door he is met with a very happy and excited Firespirit, he blinks slowly registering what's happening. A small sigh escapes his lips "You found something else you want again, right?" he questions one eyebrow lifting slightly, she makes eye contact for a split second before darting her pupil around whistling "Noooo" she draws out. He face palms "Give me 10 minutes to get ready" he states before walking away leaving the door open, a silent way to welcome her into his home. She celebrates by dancing on his doorstep.

As they made there way to the exit of the compound Jack begins to fire questions at her "So, what's the plan?" he asks eyeing her suspiciously she avoids eye contact giving Jack his answer. "You don't even have one do you?!" he yells freaking out, but Firespirit only laughs at his rambling "We will be fine, trust me" she reassures him. But his face tells a different story "Fine! You call not having a plan FINE?! We are gonna die out here!" as he rushes around mumbling how he isn't going down without a fight and that it will be all her fault. Its Firespirit's turn to sigh as she grabs him forcing eye contact, "We are fine, I'll make sure of that." Her eyes calm him down, trusting the one he loves. They make their way towards her second love, the green stone.

As they enter deeper into the forest they take time to look around the sun was beginning to fade. The leaves glowed a dim shade of amber and the shadows danced no more. The best choice was to camp for the night as stumbling around in pitch black will only get them lost and possibly killed. Before the light vanished, a cave came into view not as brilliantly decorated as her home but it will do. The two work together setting up a fire to keep themselves warm; they seem to grow distant as the days actions dawned upon them. "I'm sorry," Firespirit spoke keeping her sight on the glowing embers dancing towards the roof of the cave. His face was illuminated by the fire making his features difficult to see "What are you apologizing for?" he questions in a hushed voice. "I did leave without thinking, I could have got us killed..." She states her voice becoming low. "But you didn't, lets just find this stone and get home" he says smiling and making eye contact with her. She returns his grin with a small one. "Yeah, lets" could just barely be heard above the fire crackling.

Morning came quickly. They set off just before dawn to catch as much of the day light as they could. Rumor and hearsay was that the stone was said to be at the heart of the forest, so the most logical spot would be the middle so that's what they headed for. Most of the day passed with just walking and talking, the forest was never quiet as birds sung their tunes and animals gathered food, until suddenly it stopped. No sound was made, just the deafening sound of their own heavy breathing. Before them was a stone pillar, laying at the very top protected by moss was a small gem stone, glittering in the sun without a care in the world. It was a beautiful shade of green, almost like jade, a color Firespirit has seen many times but it never shone like this.

Firespirit slowly walked up ready to take the stone of its resting place, Jack was not far behind. Something was off, if the stone was just out there how could no one else have found it before? Just as she was going to reach it, light bursts through the trees blinding them both. An apparition almost shaped like a dragon appeared with a regal aura, "So your the one..." the light stated, "The one they call the stone collector. We hope you good at your job" she demands before disappearing into thin air. As their eyes being to focus back to the dim forest they have yet to see that the stone is gone. Firespirit has become one with the stone. She has been entrusted to protect it for centuries to come.
