Biography

By paleleaf
"So, you wish to fight me?"
_______

Warrior. That was one word that could describe Delphine. She was a superb fighter, rarely ever getting wounded by her enemies. Often times she would come back with not even a scratch. She took pride in her fighting abilities, but never overestimated herself. Delphine treats her opponents with the uptmost respect. She believes that on the battlefield, everyone is equal, regardless of species, Flight, etc.

Delphine is a calm and calculated fighter. She believes it is better to be a levelheaded, trained fighter than somebody with no experience, seething with rage. The Skydancer teaches this to the younger dragons, hoping that her knowledge will aid them in battle.

This bright Skydancer is stoic and has a hard time accepting others into her life. She can have a friendly conversation with the other dragons in her Clan, but she's only close to a few. To some she may come off as cold, but she's afraid that those who do get to know her will get hurt. She knows that it's foolish to think that way, but no matter what she tells herself, she still believes it.

Despite this, she is very protective of dragons that are close to her. She would defend her friends with her life. Anybody who wishes to harm her loved ones should think again, lest they want to be shredded into bits. Her sharp claws and long teeth are capable of wounding even the strongest dragon, and she makes sure that her opponents know it.
_______

As a young dragon, Delphine lived in the Arcane Flight, in a small Clan with her parents and several other dragons. She was supposed to grow up to be a historian who excelled in magic, just like her mother. The Skydancer never was interested in magic, though, nor the legends and lore that her mother was always rambling on about. Instead, she showed an intrest in fighting, and often skipped magic lessons that her mother had planned for her, opting to run off and fight some nearby moths instead.

Delphine got better and better at fighting, and it showed. The dragon's muscles grew, her wings grew larger and her scales got tougher. The other young dragons in her Clan were envious. They asked her how she had grown so fast and she laughed, telling them what she had been doing. The others whined that they wanted to go fight as well, but their parents wouldn't let them. Delphine said that she would teach them, and the small group began to play-fight.

But all good things come to an end. The dragons grew up, and were now nearly adults. One of the dragons became much too envious of Delphine's strength, and told their parents what she had been doing. They in turn told the Skydancer's parents, and they were infuriated. Delphine got into an argument with her father, and ended up wounding him accidentally. She didn't mean to raise her arm, but by the time she realized what she was doing, the younger dragon had already swiped at her father, leaving a long gash in his shoulder.

As punishment for hurting her own Clanmate, Delphine was banished from the Clan. She was devastated, but she knew why they did it, and thus she didn't hold a grudge against them. She travelled for quite a long time, defeating the dragons that tried to attack her. Word of her banishment had spread, and when she went to ask a neighboring Clan if she could stay with them, they refused.

She was shocked. That was the only Clan she could have asked, so she had nowhere else to go. Mad at herself for hurting her father, and unsure where to go, Delphine began to wander. She didn't know where she was going, nor what she would do when she got there, but she didn't care. The Skydancer carried on, leaving the territory of the Arcane Flight and eventually ending up in the Lightning Flight's territory.

When she arrived, the Skydancer approached a nearby Clan and explained to them why she was there. They gladly accepted her into their Clan, seeing that she was very strong and would obviously help them if a fight were to break out. She has been living there happily ever since, and now considers herself a member of the Lightning Flight.
