A very frail, sickly young fae, Desmond was brought to the Abode by Ylisse one day with very little explanation (she claims that he is merely an experimental subject for her herbal remedies, but lately she has been sharing her knowledge of herbs and medicines with him and allowing him to assist in her work).

Due to his dubious arrival to the lair and his feeble condition, he has trouble making friends and is often bullied by the more hostile members of the clan. Soon after his arrival, however, he found himself thrust into a friendship with two loud oddballs who gush over him and aim to protect him (the two said loud oddballs being Alkali and Altosk).

For the life of him, he cannot recall how he ever got himself into this position, but he is grateful for their friendship nonetheless. And perhaps, because of his keenness and his gentle nature, they depend on him more than they even realize.
