Amarach

An intensely mysterious dragon, Amárach has been blessed - or cursed - with a pair of unique skills. First and foremost, she is a Greenspeaker. Tamara and Arvid may travel to the behemoth to share mortal words with the Glademother, but Amárach believes her true messages, or those of most importance, are passed through the vegetation of the Labyrinth. She believes in many other forest spirits and believes this is how their messages are passed also. She studies the leaves - their shapes beneath her claws, their sounds, the dappled feelings of shade cast on the ground - and from them interprets meaning. She shares these messages with Hadley, and others who will listen. She tends a personal shrine, but is happy to allow all dragons to approach it. For dragons who bring an offering for the Gladekeeper, she will select a leaf and read the fortune it tells in its veins.

The other skill she posseses is that of a Scentfinder - a skill rare and unique to tundras. Most tundras have an exceptional sense of smell, but a Scentfinder's sense has surpassed even that ability to become something supernatural. A Scentfinder can track things over long distances, detect truth and lies, and the most powerful (who are usually blind, by accident or by choice) can even track scents through time. Amárach was born blind and is capable of all these things. She often combines the skill with the truth she reads in the leaves to perform divination and make prophecies.

Her brother is Rhamnus, head of patrols, and their relationship is very close. He is not often home, but she keeps careful tabs on his scent and reads a leaf for him every day.
