Biography

Underbrush the Arborist
Cultivates the trees in the clan territory and tends to the forests that she's grown.

Underbrush, like Sage, spends a lot of time with her plants, though in her case the plants she primarily works with are trees. Ever since she was little she loved trees, though there were very few in the territory. As she grew older, she would scavenge for seeds or trade things for saplings from other parts of Sornieth. She started small, but now her forest is massive and expansive, covering most parts of the large territory.

As her trees grew, Underbrush started to notice flashes of movement that seemed too fluid to be her trees. She asked around but none of the other dragons in the clan had seen anything, nor had anyone been following her around as she worked. One day, Underbrush found a dragon sleeping in one of the trees. She'd almost missed them because they blended in so well with the tree. She woke the dragon up and asked where they came from, and the dragon told her that she came from the tree.

That dragon was Castanea, and she explained that she was a dryad, a tree nymph. She also explained that most of the trees in the forest had a dryad, though many preferred to stay hidden. As they came to know Underbrush, more dryads revealed themselves to her, and she decided that, just like with the trees, she would take care of these dryads.

Underbrush is a gentle giant; she has to be when she works with such tiny, frail things like seeds and saplings. She often recruits the faes and Carbon to help plant and tend to the smaller and more delicate trees. She calls her friends, family and clanmates "Sapling" as a term of endearment. Some dryads don't take kindly to being called "babies"; others call Underbrush "Hatchling" for the same reason she uses the nickname "Sapling".
