While his father abandoned Clan Warde to follow the call of the Windsinger, Hlynur brought the wind back the lair with him.

Hlynur's affinity with the wind adds lift to his flight and buoyancy to his wings, allowing him to spiral higher and faster and for longer periods than other dragons in the lair. But he is not, as are many wind dragons, a traveler. Hlynur prefers to bring the joy and laughter of the wind to where he is - and he claims that he can see more wonders in the pictures the wind brings him than his fellow dragons find in their trips to far-off places.

"You come back from the Blacksand Annex," he laughs, "and you tell me it was hot in the fire realms. You forget that it snowed nearly every you were there. You don't tell me how the snow hissed and steamed and crackled as it reached the fires that boiled in the furnace, how great circles of bare rock appeared as you flew, showing you the hidden fires burning under the surface, melting the snow into steaming puddles. art by hapro 		As part of Lucia's lair, Hlynur is not idle. He helps Calvin to tend his flowers, ensuring that the lair's fae population never runs out of insects. He startles straying herds with bright visual displays of color, guiding them back to where they belong. He watches the gardens for insects that could damage the plants, enjoying the duty of eating them and spare the tender shoots.

Hlynur's favorite job, however, and his specialty, is making cloth. Working closely with Emelia, Hlynur cards, spins, and weaves the wool that her flock produces into light, shimmering fabric, ready for her to make it something beautiful.
