Mythal is a spirit-sensing mage with a strong connection to the Arcane. Though she herself is infused with the Gladekeeper's favor, she studies arcane literature almost exclusively, the better to understand the effect of Arcane radiation upon the natural world. She is capable of communication with the magically infused spirits of creatures who have passed on from this world, and exceedingly kind to all she encounters. Many feel mildly uncomfortable in her presence, for they become more aware of the presence of spirits when confronted with her truth. Still, her counsel is highly regarded, and sought after. She does not have as many friends as she might like, however, and is sometimes lonely.

Her knowledge of the spirit world makes her an expert in healing magics, for she often deals with the dead or dying, and is good at isolating the injuries and sickness that might be preventing a living dragon from remaining among the living. Her instinct for diagnosis is quite literally a life saver at times.

She works closely with Gawker in an effort to keep the clan's populace in good health. While he employs the use of herbs and music, Mythal encourages the use of meditation and magic. They work together very well, each providing assistance where the other one falls short, and are good friends. Gawker is one of the few other dragons who treats Mythal without awe or fear in his interactions with her-- simply a fellow dragon and nothing more. Perhaps in his time he's seen enough to understand that not all unusual things are necessarily fearful.
