Draconis has a rather strange history to his life before he got to where he is today. His life started out much like Darastrix's. He had a far quieter connection to the Gladekeeper then his first mate and he knows he can never truly leave Darastrix's side. But, it soon became apparent that it was not fated for them to be together forever. The two had begun to drift from one another as mates only a small time after being so. They loved each other but it was not in the way they saw other mates in love. So though they were not meant to be did not mean they did part. Darastrix continues to lead the Nomad clan they had both created together but Draconis began to take a different path.

Draconis was a curious dragon, who wished to learn everything he could as the clan traveled and collected more for their clan. He wanted to know everything, what kind of flora and fauna grew here? What was the area like in the different seasons? what deity ruled here? He had so many questions. When passing through the relm of the Archanist it soon became apparent that perhaps this is where his true purpose lay. So he stayed and learned a great many things from their mass stores of scrolls and ancient texts, but a pull tugged at his being. He felt some piece of him was incomplete. It was his bond to Darastrix. Others told him to be rid of his bond and he might be better able to learn more from the Archanist, but he could not. And so he set off to return to his people. Unable to learn more due to his bond but unable to throw away something so precious to him.

Draconis now stands as the keeper of knowledge for the clan. He knows a great many things and if he doesn't have the answer now, he will get it soon enough. He devotes much of his time teaching hatchlings the way of the world and of the creatures that inhabit this wonderful world. He enjoys teaching others and is persistent in the pursuit of knowledge, but doesn't let it consume him, for he will always be devoted to his humble beginnings.

SHORT STORY

Draconis had gone on a journey to find a new mate when he had come across a dragon trading a rather unusual scroll. Thinking it would be something the clan could use for trade later on, Draconis took the scroll and thanked the dragon for the trade. Seeing how Draconis was only a small fae and counld hold very few items all at once he decided that he would take the scroll, and a few other items he had come across, back to his clan. The next night as Draconis slept atop the trees, the scroll glowed and a bright blinding light filled the area.

Draconis fell from the trees as the branches could no longer hold his weight. Draconis let out a shout of surprise and pain as he landed on the ground. Having been so rudely awakened he groaned before blinking awake and searching for what caused his sudden fall. 'What in the worl-' his thought were cut short as he knowticed everything around him seemed smaller then it once was. Moving to stand Draconis finally knowticed his new features. Four grey and white claws, a pink fur covered tail, feathered pink wings, and a large pink swirled pearl lay beside him. Draconis panicked and began pulling at his new features thinking that there was no way he was actually a pearlcatcher now.

'How?...I dont understand? What happened to me?' Thinking over his last few days he quickly remembers the scroll. 'Thats the only explination...' Draconis sighed and sat down on the ground trying to calm himself enough to figure out what to do next. 'should i go find the dragon i got the scroll from or do I just return to the clan like I was to do before?...'

Draconis sighed and decided it was going to be near impossible to find the traveling dragon he had originally gotten the scroll from, 'I guess I should just head back to the clan for now...I wonder what Darastrix's reaction will be when I return...?'
