Biography

Coop's story is one of love and revenge. Originally, he was the leading expert in elemental fire abilities within the Magical Society. He was happy with his mate, Konstantine, but his world was shaken when she became violently ill. It came to a point where Coop realized she was dying, and so he came to the Headmistress of the Society, Josephine, to ask her to allow the healers to cure Konstantine of her illness. Josephine convened with her council of advisors, but the verdict was the furthest thing from what Coop had hoped for. She decreed that Konstantine should be exalted - to live out her dying days in the service of her chosen deity. Konstantine was sent away, and Coop was crushed.

A plan was formed. Josephine had taken away what Coop held most precious, and so he decided that Josephine must perish as well. He hatched a plot to take down the Headmistress, but his apprentice at the time, Solari, caught wind of the scheme and ratted him out. Coop was found out in the midst of completing his revenge. Heavy manacles of iron were put around his wrists to keep him from accessing his fire powers or shape-shifting back to dragon. He was made to work oddball jobs around the Society as a means of one day obtaining his freedom again.

JOSEPHINE - Although being chained keeps Coop from carrying out his plans, he still intends to seek out his revenge against Josephine. He does what she asks now because he hopes to one day convince her to remove the manacles. He also knows that his other option is to be thrown into a cell to rot away, and Coop is not ready to give up on life just yet. It grates him to carry out Josephine's tasks. Coop also detests when other dragons speak about her, and moreso when they remind him that he needs to heed her demands.

ADMAEL - It might come as a surprise to others, but there is one he despises even more than Josephine. That would be the Lightweaver disciple, Admael. It was Admael who sat in on the council to decide Konstantine's fate, and it was Admael who came up with the suggestion that she be exalted. Coop means to find a way to cause Admael to fall out of favor with the Lightweaver, but has yet to figure out how to do so. Admael takes particular delight in reminding Coop of his place, and Coop tends to react much like an angry cat.

SOLARI - Even when Coop lost Konstantine, he continued to teach his apprentice, Solari. The young Skydancer was also skilled in fire magic, and Coop had taken him on as an apprentice at an early stage. Things clearly changed when Coop learned it was Solari who revealed his plan to the Headmistress. It is rare for the two to cross paths now because Solari avoids Coop at all costs. There's little Coop can actually do with the iron chains, but Solari still doesn't want to face his former mentor.

ERINA - Erina is Admael's daughter and Coop's new apprentice. Although he might not have access to his fire powers currently, he is still well-versed in how to use them. Even so, he was reluctant to take Erina on as his apprentice. Two factors contributed to him doing so. One, Josephine told him to. And two, Erina is able to spite her father. He is kept busy with other things so lessons are few and far between, but deep down he likes teaching Erina. So long as she doesn't betray him one day like his former apprentice, of course.

Some random notes on Coop's character. Like everyone in the Magical Society, Coop used to have a familiar before his attempt to take down Josephine. His familiar was another thing he lost upon being punished. It's something he regrets, but doesn't think on too often since most of his focus is on Konstantine. The familiar is also something he does not talk about so few know what he might have had before.

Although his days are filled with work for the most part there is one day that Josephine allows him to take off. That would be the day of Konstantine's death. Typically the day involves remaining in his room (he is allowed a room since he needs to sleep) and remembering his lost mate. Woe to any dragon who attempts to disturb him during this day.

Coop has made multiple attempts to get the chains he wears removed, but he has yet to succeed so far. Most of his attempts revolve around proving to Josephine that he's changed his ways. However, although he's really not a bad liar, he just can't seem to prove it to Josephine. His other attempts usually involve trying to convince other dragons in the Society to remove the chains, but few dragons pay him much mind.
