Stormsurge

Stormsurge is Morvanya's long-lost partner. Shortly before Morvanya decided to form her own clan, Stormsurge was called by the Gladekeeper to serve - he was gone for nearly eight years. When he returned, he was amazed to find that Morvanya had over fifty dragons under her care, a number which has fluctuated as more have been born or brought in and others have left, usually to serve the Gladekeeper.

Stormsurge began life as a Guardian and found Morvanya as his charge, but when he would not give up her protection, even to serve the Gladekeeper (despite Morvanya's pleas that he answer the call), the Gladekeeper made his choice easier. She transformed him into a new breed, one neither of them had seen before, which they later learned was called an "obelisk." No longer ensnared by his instincts to protect Morvanya at all costs, Stormsurge went to battle.

At the end of his service, Stormsurge was gifted with the glorious sparkles in his coat by the Gladekeeper for his dedication. Contented, he went home.

Morvanya was relieved and elated to see him and welcomed him home with enthusiasm. His fighting days were over; eight years serving the Gladekeeper in full action was enough to earn him a lifetime of relaxation. Rather than help Morvanya with training up the youth to send to the Gladekeeper, Stormsurge instead helps organize the clan's daily life. He enjoys playing matchmaker and maintains the nesting grounds so the couples caring for their eggs need not worry too much. He also enjoys spending time with hatchlings and enriching their lives with the stories of Sornieth.

During the battle of Nature and Plague, Stormsurge did his part by seeking out lost hatchlings to send to the Gladekeeper for her to nurture. He found many in the labyrinthine forests of Nature territory, which he knew all too well.

After the battle, he worked diligently with Morvanya to build new expansions to their lair. His breed's inherent strength and dexterity was particularly helpful with this.
