A vain, preening fellow, Sonnet has filled the niche of the overly-dramatic, tragic poet of the clan. Saved from exile at birth due to a lucky bright wing plumage, his pompousness did the job of outcasting him from the other Sunbeam scholars instead. He can often be found lounging in the sun, writing stories and poetry that only he and the other coatls can understand, tragically. This is due to his refusal to translate any of his works into common draconic, because, as he claims, "They just won't translate well!"
He and Bahari butt heads constantly, doomed to forever argue whether music and art should be whimsical and carefree or deep and tragic.
The only dragon he loves more than himself is his equally vain mate, Irys, whom he dotes upon and showers with shiny trinkets and gifts.
