Biography

PatriarchThe WandererClan Elder
In moments of silence when you're alone You feel the desire is burning still strong Open your heart, remember the day When I sent you out on your way ____ Every day and every night Standing side by side forever Divided we will fall; United we will stand A revolution is at hand If we were stars glowing in the sky Illuminate the darkness Like a shining light If we were sparks flying in the wind Flashing in the night, ignite the flame within |
Oldest of Clan Nebula, the Arcane spellcaster Alpha Centauri was the first to settle inside of what he deemed the Crystal Palace, an ancient and foreign ruin on top of an island of the Focal Point. Where others shied away from the cracked composition of lead glass and strangely-formed steel that was certainly not made by dragon claws, he made it into a home for scholars of the Arcane ... as well as those who had nowhere left to go and came to him seeking solace. Soon, the Palace thrived as a safe haven for outcasts and exiles of other clans, led by two Elders who barely understood their new-found responsibility, but steered the clan the best they could. He's been an unusual leader ever since. Centauri does not fight with his teeth or claws, but relies entirely on the Arcane blessings he has been born with. His height is less than impressive, and more often than not, the patriarch is dwarfed by the other dragons of his clan. He even went as far as openly sharing his Soul Name, the name given to him by the Arcanist way before his birth, with the entire clan, well aware that this name could be a potential weakness. And still, despite his diminutive size and frail health, the other dragons come to him with their problems, and he's known to be a skilled healer as well as an attentive arbitrator. Newcomers to Clan Nebula quickly realize that the true strength of their new-found family is not hidden in the power of destruction, but instead lies inside the willingness of creation and inspiration of one another. This is the underlying aim of the residents of the Palace. During the second Starfall Celebration of Clan Nebula, Centauri finally decided to lay down the banner of leadership, handing it over to his daughter Alphecca. Since then he remained a valued councillor, leading the Council of Elders with sharp eyes and a sharper tongue. He drew back from most outside responsibilities, however; his behaviour began to grow darker, much like the skies around the clan grounds. Behind a raised claw, Centauri is said to bicker and grumble a lot, and the Arcane familiars staying at his side for years can well account for this skill. The oldest clan members, such as the Lightbringer Vesta, tend to refer to him as "the grumpy old dragon", not without reason to do so. A near-catastrophic accident during the third Rockbreaker's Ceremony led to a sudden relocation of the entire Crystal Palace to the Shifting Expanse. While Centauri had been inside the Palace, studying the inner workings of what seemed to be a foreign machinery not crafted by Lightning dragons, other dragons caused trouble near him. Their playful banter led to the activation of different switches, which in turn made the Palace tremble, shake, and ultimately lift off the ground altogether. Thankfully, most dragons made the unfortunate trip in one piece. Centauri himself sees their new home as both an opportunity and a sign, and seems to throw himself into the teachings of the Stormcatcher with passion. But he is well aware of the countless shadows lurking in the darkness of the hallways, watching the clan's every move... |
