The Patriarch

The head of the Sparks Clan Solemn is as his name implies: dignified with age and withdrawn. Time has left the Guardian with a bitter taste in his mouth and a scowl etched onto his face.

Solemn’s Search started almost the second he found himself brought to conscience, sending him wandering across the world in hopes of finding his destined charge. Years of travel were finally ended when Solemn happened upon both Maize and the cliff side caverns his future clan would someday call home. He expected his charge to be the Maize, his size and tactic to couple with her ferocity and speed; instead it came in the form of his territory, locking him with a home.

Solemn had never planned to settle down and create a Clan, especially with a zealot such as Maize, but the universe has different plans and his territory is large enough to accommodate any who would wish to see his land as a home or resting spot. Each newcomer he greets with the warmest greeting he can muster, offering food and dry places to sleep, and the ones that stay he treats with a bland kindness although he holds a special home in his heart for hatchlings and the lost.

While his devotion to the Stormcatcher is no where as fanatic as Maize’s, Solemn still believes in the will of his god and finds no problem in acting act his will.
