Despite being part of a four hatchling increase in clan members, Ankaa garnered the attention of nearly everyone in the clan due to her beautiful coloring. Unfortunately, this resulted in spending less time with the other hatchlings her age, and the blatant favoritism made her a target for bullying by Brielle.

As they matured, the clan worried that their fighting might become serious, and separated them for a year while they learned various skills from mentors in the clan. During that time, Ankaa began to let go of the spite she had accumulated. She is still incredibly shy, and has a habit of flying off even in the middle of a conversation if she becomes uncomfortable.

Oddly enough, Brielle was the only dragon stubborn enough to try and open her heart. She made constant attempts to spend time with Ankaa, even if they said or did nothing at all together, and often left trinkets near her when she left.

Pancake still serves as her surrogate father, and she's also picked up his habit of working with stones, diving out of the sky when she finds a favorite, and choosing to polish and work their forms until they are smooth and round. In an attempt to thank Brielle for her actions without committing to speech, Ankaa will throw selected stones at her, which she's taken to using in her sculptures.

During the move to Dragonhome, Ankaa was designated as a non-combat cargo dragon. She was quite well suited to the role until the clan was ambushed in the Scarred Wasteland, and Brielle was overtaken in battle. Panicking, Ankaa dove into the fray at such a force it knocked the group into a ravine and they were separated from the clan for two days.

Nursing a tundra with a broken leg and a broken heart for two days is no small feat, and when the duo were reunited with the clan, Ankaa was gifted a set of gold armor to commemorate her valor, though she doesn't often wear it because it weighs her down. Brielle and Ankaa have been inseparable ever since.
