Aquarae

Clan Patriarch. Is content to sit back and leave much to Essie, but tends to make extremely wise decisions when he does step in. Is highly respected for his age and experience, and is known as the best storyteller in the lair. Sleeps a lot.

Will occasionally change color from red to blue, and back again. No one is sure why or how.

"Sir Aquarae? What does Lady Essie do?"

The old dragon turned his head slightly to regard the newest hatchlings- he could never get over just how small the babies were, and he was hardly the largest dragon in the lair. Sometimes he wondered how Sheba hadn't stepped on anyone yet.

"...Storyteller."

Two of the wyrmlings burst out laughing. "She's not a storyteller! Sir Aquarae, she doesn't even talk!" They chortled and rolled, amused at the thought of their elder telling jokes.

A third hatchling peeped up from behind the other two. "Storyteller...? What does Lady Essie do?"

A smile curved Aquarae's face as his title was spoken; this little one was clever. He pushed himself up to tower over the three babes and curved a wing to shadow them; the pinprick star patterns on the membrane seemed to glow. "Sit, and I will teach you."

All three haunches immediately dropped into the dirt. The hatchlings stared, wide-eyed, at the old master as he began to weave a myth.

"Lady Essie was born to be the Lightweaver's eyes..."
