Flying miles to and from the RainBar was tedious and time consuming, but thankfully Zakai was good about providing portals straight to Tai's home on the outskirts of the forest. Odd, that one, but always warm, always kind. Life had become much better since his return. He still had a hard time assessing the concept of Zak being a person, but also a building. Or where he came from. Or why he always talked so quickly, except when he didn't, and what governed such shifts. But he'd long since accepted that there are many things in the world that you don't need to understand to accept. Zak was a kindhearted and loving friend, and that was that.

After hours of blaring music and neon lights, it was almost dizzying to return to nothing but the wind in the trees, the distant sound of running water, the dim glow of the setting sun. But the clean air... nothing beat the smell of it. He took in a deep lungful, letting out the stress of the day with an extended sigh. For a brief moment, he contemplated abandoning his humanoid form to have some time to stretch his natural wings with a quick glide around the area, but the thought was almost immediately squashed. There was something much more pressing to take care of. Last weekend had been host to a successful hunt, and he had to clean his trophies. It wasn't a matter of if, but when. The compusiveness of a dragon and their hoard was not blah blah blah this is just a size test.
