Cross

A relative newcomer to the clan, Cross just showed up on the territory borders one day, scarred and distant and stubbornly refusing to leave. Arkady permitted him to stay, ostensibly out of the kindness of his heart, but the going theory is that it was to prevent Cross from challenging him for leadership. The imposing ridgeback is clearly no stranger to battle; while the mirror patriarch is cunning and ruthless, he may have met his match in this one.

For the time being, however, Cross is content to guard the borders. He made swift friends with Nerites, perhaps recognizing a kindred spirit, but apart from that he keeps to himself. His fierce appearance and razor-sharp wit are enough to discourage too-friendly relations. He is also very much unlike the traditional ridgeback: he rarely borrows, although he subscribes to the theory that resources like territory, water, and game cannot be owned and are thus free for taking. So far no one has made any efforts to 'borrow' the battered armor he wears.

He used to go by another name, but he speaks only rarely about his time before joining the clan.
