Biography
Though October would admit a Guardian would seem the obvious choice for the job of Sentinel/Border Patrol due to their size, no one is better suited to the job than Black Candle. Completely devoted to the clan as a whole, his sense of family is likely the strongest there can be. His superior sense of smell, which is powerful even for a Tundra, can detect the presence of an intruder before they've even come near the border of the territory. This enables him to alert the soldiers to potential threats. He will confront danger without fear in the name of protecting his family.
When it comes to outsiders, he is generally mistrustful, anxious and awkward. Even once the newcomer has gained his trust, it takes a very long time for him to warm up to them and become comfortable around them, often taking months before he will even engage in conversation with them. His social skills are not the greatest, so when a guest has proven to not be a threat, he will normally either return to his patrol, or retreat to his room in the caverns.
Within the clan, once his trust and love has been gained, it's ridiculously difficult to break. He is quick to forgive, and loves freely. Short of deliberate harm to his mate or his hatchlings, there is very little he will not forgive. Because of this his mate, Knight, is very protective of him to keep him from being taken advantage of by others *coughmatchacough*.
He loves his children greatly. He is just as proud of his sons and daughters that join other clans as he is of the ones who go on to join the Flamecaller. Though proud, their leaving the clan is a sad occasion for Candle, who will mourn them as though they had died, even though he had likely encouraged them to leave in the first place.
Transgender, he/him/his pronouns. Very very sensitive to being misgendered. He will grudgingly forgive one single mistake, but further misgendering will lead to a violent attack.
