Biography

Bramble's avatar
Bramble
Orchardist

Travelers who happen upon Bramble's orchard deep within the Viridian Labyrinth usually don't realize that they've stumbled upon a carefully tended grove. The Gladekeeper favors primal growth over artificially groomed, uniform plots; Bramble is Nature to the core, so he keeps his orchard as wild as possible. The lush combination of fruit trees and berry thickets in the grove provides cover for the many mammal, reptile, and avian species that call the jungle home.

Like his mate, Bramble likes to use himself as growing support for some of his young plants. Unlike his mate, however, his saplings are usually festooned with thorns. While their sharp points have little effect on his tough hide, most other dragons in the clan give him a great deal of personal space whenever they see Bramble coming.

Bramble also enjoys singing to his plants; he claims it helps them grow. Anyone who has actually overheard his discordant crooning, however, has trouble believing this is so. At Trellis' request, Bramble started taking singing lessons with Brigid, the clan's foremost musician. Unfortunately, the lessons didn't last long - Brigid gave up when it became clear that Bramble had no interest whatsoever in musical instruction. His plants don't seem to mind his terrible singing, though; everyone agrees that the fruit from his orchard is the sweetest to be had for miles around.
