Emi is second-in-command of the guard. She is passionate about protecting others and wouldn't hesitate to put herself between her clan and those hurting them. Sometimes she seems demanding, but it's only because she wants what's best for everybody. She often helps train those to prepare to help the Arcanist. Many of the clan believe that she will take the Captain's position, which makes her nervous being she does not believe she's ready to be #1 in the chain of command.

She is best friends with Graham, and sometimes worries about him based on his behavior. The most recent worry about him was the fact he wasn't talking to her like he used to and seemed to be always hiding in her room. The fact Feliks and Jin seemed to know what was going on but not her made her feel a bit insulted. Once Graham finally confessed to her about what was going on, she was highly annoyed, but was ready to stand by his side and help him care for his new child.

Emi has gotten a bit restless at the thought of not having a family of her own. She has since adopted her own dragons to be a part of her family. She has no regrets. She also seems to be fancying the skydancer Gyre, often showing off her body to him. Graham thinks she's being silly, but he also finds the situation amusing, and would love to see Emi happy.
