Hecate is in charge of applying Coats of Paint to members of the clan. Hecate was one of the first dragons to join Terrepaix, and holds a seat on the Elder Council. Medeina initially could not find a mate for her, and on an expedition to her home clan, Hecate came across a male Skydancer in the Hewn City that she fell in love with. She and the male, Dawn, had an egg together, but soon Hecate had to return to Terrepaix. Medeina was initially angry with Hecate for her dalliance, but soon forgave her and ensured that the baby, Cirra, found a home with Sinnastrae Clan, whose founder Medeina knew personally and trusted to take care of hatchlings sent her way. Hecate soon was assigned a permanent mate, Aconite, and around the same time took up Painting, learning how to magically alter how a dragon looked to others, even if their skin remained the same. She trained her apprentice, Henbane, in the art of magical Tattooing, which is considered more painful and more permanent to the dragon, and thus rarer than simple Paint. Henbane has now graduated to being a full-fledged Artist, allowing Hecate to focus on her own craft once more. Hecate is quite proud of her Shadow heritage, which Medeina puts up with.
