Boreas is Winter's security assistant, which amounts to all of the work (particularly of the paper variety) and little of the pay of the position. Luckily, he is so madly in love with Winter that he would and has thrown himself after a Ridgeback for her.
He is rarely seen without Winter - or, rather, she is rarely seen without him - the notable exception being when she has locked him out of the security apartments for being too overbearing. Despite his devotion, he has a horrible weakness for pearls and similarly toned jewelry, and can be convinced to turn a blind eye to certain crimes for some particularly shiny trinkets.

crystalline sovereigns
The highly symmetric shape of the ice crystals that the Crystalline Sovereigns are based off of can be attributed to the deposition of water vapor onto ice crystals as they form. From the original hexagonal prism, the development of an ice crystal's shape is determined by its environmental temperature and humidity - overall a very technical process for what many consider a wondrous beauty of nature. Both the crystals and the dragons flurry throughout the sky with careless precision.
