My beginnings mean nothing. It is the journey I take, and those who are with me in the end, that truly matter. It is not my ending that matters, but the present time, and the ones I love. Memories are just that... They are nothing more than memories. Old ones are replaced with new ones. Every dawning has its dusk, just as every dusk has its dawn.

This is what most dragons hear when they are invited to stay with Alura and her clan. She is a loyal companion, fierce, nurturing. She is the one who runs the entire clan, the one who rules over her dragons. With her are her loyal and steadfast sons, Loki and Thor. And by her side is her loving mate, Drak. This was not always the story, not always the case..... Like every other dragon out there, she has a past, one she does not willingly share.

It was on the day of her hatching, her birthing, that things already were going astray.... The young Guardian came from her shell, crying and calling for her parents. Alas, she was alone in the depths of the forests.... She was terrified, bright emerald eyes scanning her surroundings. A young dragon normally was not alone... Where were her parents? Wasn't she supposed to be loved? Looking about her, she saw another egg nearby...this one crushed. Obviously, it had been her sibling, and she felt a pain in her chest.

Young, and already she was feeling loss. She cried, calling still for her parents. Where was her mother? Her father? Nuzzling the egg, she whimpered softly, and slowly crawled out from the darkness and into the light. The rays blinded her momentarily, and she blinked. Squinting through half closed lids, she stared at the world. A vast amount of greenery greeted her. She couldn't stay here for long... Instead, the young Guardian began a journey. She didn't know why, but staying wasn't going to work.

As the time slowly ticked away, she learned to hunt and feed herself. Alura found she absolutely loved the fruits and berries the trees provided. They were delicious, and she grew a fondness for their juices. As more time passed, she grew into a beautiful dragon, large, strong, and confident. She was sure of herself, though she felt lonely.... It wasn't until she ran into something that was...well, pint sized, that her world was turned upside down.

Drak, the Fae, ran smack into her face. Something was after the pint sized fellow, and Alura, feeling a strange calm come over her, protected this dragon with all her might. It was then she understood. This was her charge, the one she was to watch over... And together, they found this glen they are settled in, and now rule over an entire clan.

It is thanks to them, that this place is here, is safe. It is what we call home.
