Rani
The Weaver

![]() | Residing far from the comforts of modern civility, Rani provides her and her reclusive clanmates decorative tapestries, carpets, and other textiles using the Starwood's unique flora and fauna, occasionally causing one's tapestry to glow at night. She additionally sells these creations through traders to provide income for the clan to use outside of their hidden sanctuary. |

Rani found herself taking care of a wounded baby bird on her first year of staying permanently within the Starwood. After nursing the bird back to health, it took quite a liking to stealing her sewing equipment and attempting to mimic her complex movements on scrap fabrics. These days, one can find Eirlys perched on Rani's horns, swooping to and fro with different materials and still attempting her own needlework with gentle corrections from Rani. The clan finds Eirlys' work adorable, and will often hang or display the bird's works within their lairs. Rani herself proudly displays Eirlys' work within her lair and workspace, proudly presenting (and bragging) about the efforts that went into such a piece. Eirlys often gifts these works to random clanmates via dropping the work upon their heads. |

Rani challenges society and beauty standards in her own way, taking aspects of nature and forging them into never before seen beauties of tapestries. Instead of using the mute colors of the earth, Rani would highlight the unknowing haunting beauty of the Starwood in jagged shapes and bright colors to both praise the beauty and worship the entity that lives within. To outsiders, her tapestries evoke fear of the unknown and the feeling of being perceived beyond what can be comprehended. To Rani, she simply wishes to evoke the joy that the entity gives her and her clan at this new walk of life as a way to show reverence. The Manaweaver Hall is currently draped in her artwork, depicting the First Manaweaver and portraits of those who are opalized and their feats when she is not doing commission work. While her customers get irritated at her unhurried nature in forming something perfect, the time always pays off to the product. |

Rani loves weaving, don't get her wrong - but leather tooling was a way to calm the mind when projects become stressful. She finds the gentle repetitive motions and unhurried, lax but precise motions to be calming of the mind and soul. Should a clanmate become overly anxious, Rani invites them into her studio and teaches them simple methods with scrap leather. It has proven to be as equally calming to some, leading to group gatherings every week to peacefully tool in silence and express creativity in a limitless way. |
