Rare ten-winged twin brothers. Their potential seems promising, but why does their magic feel just a little strange? Still, by glancing at them, there's nothing that explains why this clutch hatched late. Until one lays eyes on the last newborn...
Loosely inspired by the idea of the Unseelie Court, the Court of Night and Shadow is the court of the dark fae aristocracy, encompassing the Morrigan, other nobles, and their retinue. The Morrigan is a title: whoever becomes the ruler becomes the Morrigan, their previous true name eclipsed and subsumed. The name of Morrigan itself possesses power, power that only increases with every generation. Each Morrigan will rule their Court somewhat differently, some laxer and some stricter, some preferring chaos over order, but the current Twelve-Winged Morrigan reigns with an iron grip.
Though no one can deny her power or majesty, or her right to rule—her wings speak for themselves—there are many who are unhappy with the current state of things, and many more who fear that the reign of a monarch this powerful may never end. She seems impossible to dislodge from her throne now, but fae are long-lived beings, and there may be those casting a hopeful eye on her offspring...
