"oh oh oh!!! hi!!! sorry for this mess...i'm just organizing important documents!! ah, you wanted to ask about these "Deities"...? you're willing to listen!?!?? oh my goodness!!!! i'll tell you now, just tell me when to stop if you need a minute to process the information i'm about to tell you..."

A Bad Beginning

In the beginning of creating a new world, meant to home various creatures and mortals...a Deity by the name Hajimari was the deity of ANOTHER world that got destroyed in an cataclysmic event from a meteor (but that's another story for another day teehee) was commanded by gods higher up than them to create the Deities of Life and Death. The Deity of Life was named Ichironasim, and the Deity of Death was named Nyx. They were created as siblings.

After they were created, Ichironasim was seen as the more popular one due to her soft personality and willingness to give mortals a second chance at life. She called the mortals her "children". But underneath that smile, lied a dark and manipulative side of her.

Nyx was getting ticked at how the mortals were treating him, saying that he was scary and liked his sister better than he did...so instead of confronting Ichironasim about it, he started killing more mortals each and everyday to take his anger out on his sister. Ichironasim had disguised as a human to give birth to two boys, one that she took to raise on her own while she left the unknown human father with the other son to fend for themselves before Nyx finally crashed out on his sister, eventually leading into the worst fight humanly possible. At this point, Nyx was turning into something more...demonic. He gained an unnatural power to overpower Ichironasim, therefore, turning him into a literal demon with pale white skin, sharp claws and giant horns. Just as Ichironasim was about to get killed, she managed to pluck the souls of two mortals in desperation to create the Deities of the Moon and the Sun - Idris and Citrine respectfully. Not knowing the full extent of their powers yet, they did all they could to finally defeat Nyx, now calling himself Orphenyx, and with the help of a higher up god called The Curse, it put a curse on Ichironasim to punish her for killing multiple of the higher up gods in a desperate power hungry rampage so long ago. That curse was that she could only awaken when there was an eclipse. Both gods fell and faded from Idris and Citrine's view, leaving them alone.

But, Orphenyx didn't completely disappear. He just took the body of an innocent human.

The Rise of a Conflict That Never Ended

When Orphenyx perished, his soul never really left the plane of reality. He was waiting for the perfect opportunity to take advantage of something...or someone.

The door opened when he found out a human had perished from a fire in his home, killing his wife and unborn child. Although, this human's soul was just...floating in the dark abyss of nothingness. So, Orphenyx managed to convince the human to join his side, and turn him into a being Orphenyx was before. A demon. Magical girl transformation sequence later, the human had become Jestrathus, the Demon of Corruption.

With a little sprinkle of Orphenyx' powers, Jestrathus became a very scary threat to mortal life, several villages fell to his wrath. Idris eventually found out about what was going on, and the two fought a very destructive battle. Guess what? ... The battle was a tie. That battle solidified the future of this feud and a very concerning choice for mortals and immortals all around - Deity or Demon?

As Jestrathus helped more innocent humans became vengeful monsters to take out their anger on the race that wronged them, the Deities were doing the same thing in a concerning way. The Deities needed to disguise themselves, orders given by Ichironasim herself, to pluck out the literal souls of mortals to make into Deities. For simplicity's sake, Loxlii was one of the humans picked out for this. The process is painful for both sides. That is all I can tell you. Anyway, as the demons kept popping up and causing chaos, Loxlii was actively trying to help them while she had fallen in love with a human who was then known as Anlex (now Templex). Her mental health wasn't doing so good. The weight of her job was weighing on her, and she was discovering the dark secrets of Ichironasim, and the job itself.

After a while of this, Loxlii secretly plotted to have her get killed by Jestrathus himself to end her misery. So, in the heat of a major battle, it happened. Loxlii was...split into two and had her soul shattered.
Right in front of her allies.

Tragedy

Storms rage for about 2 months straight after her death. When Loxlii had died, Anlex got promoted to the Weather Deity. His wrath was unmatched, having no mercy against Jestrathus.

But Anlex wasn't alone in this grieving period. The Deity of Poison, Veneno, became so heartbroken that he had turned into a demon out of loss. The Deity of Fire, Sheru, turned into the Deity of Distortion after sealing herself away to the Distortion World (yes, where the legendary Giratina from Pokemon lives, bare with me) and the Deity of Fire role never ended up getting filled until WAY later on. Idris had to lie to multiple kingdoms relying on her that she had went missing.

Loxlii was the glue holding the group together - so, as expected, relations grew rotted and unbearable. Idris became so hateful some deities needed to stay away from him for their health, otherwise he would blow up and...yeah. It was an awful time to be a Deity.

The Battle Never Really Ended

A few years go by and Idris catches wind that the King of the Sun Kingdom (basically), was trying to make the Demons into redeemable beings, and showed a few of them that they really can be redeemed despite the horrible things they have done.

The effort didn't go unnoticed - a lot of the Deities recognized the King's effort and some offered to help. However...not everyone was on board, especially Anlex, who tried to kill some of the Demon's who had no ill will out of spite for the King. After blowing up and nearly killing two children of the Deities one day, he was finally exiled, stripped of his Deity duties for good.

Just as it seemed like it was going well, the Demons broke the King's truce with them and ended up killing several Deities in an effort to wipe the slate clean. The Deities who remained were Chrojnotri, the Deity of Time, Idris, Citrine, Hajimari. They were outnumbered by a long shot and victory was slim.

The battle lasted for over 9 years, and life on the mortals end was a living nightmare. Since the Deity of Nature, Via, was long dead, plant life was suffering since the world relied on her blessings. And just as things couldn't get any worse...the Deities lost the battle. The Demons at first were shocked that they had finally won, and promptly took over the world as the new "Deities". Orphenyx completely took over Jestrathus' body for good, effectively kicking him out of his own body, and turned the Deities into statues, forever frozen in their despair. Forever.

At least, that's what they all thought...

A New Hope

The Demons reign over the world lasted a short 500 years, because without the other side keeping the world balanced, the world would eventually end.

So, very slowly and painfully, the world tore itself apart little by little, making every species go extinct one by one. The mortals fell, and the Demons eventually perished as well. Well, what of the Deities?

Let's just say each individual Deity was given blessings to move onto the next world, by the Dragon Deities (including Ichironasim).

With the promise of the Demons not following them to this world, everything seems to be going swell for the group so far, heck - they even got the Deities they had lost back! So now, the group is living here, in Starling Day, taking a well deserved break after ages of watching their old world turn...
