Biography

He messed up. He messed up big time. Now he's stuck.

He was...asleep?...for who knew how long and then suddenly he was back and in a lab of some sort, not his lab at any rate. A duo of Guardian females looked at him in his electronic prison with wide eyes and he hissed and zipped around, his electrified self flowing through wires and into a generator. That explained him being awake again.

It was a closed system though, he couldn't escape, so he flowed back to the monitor and growled, the sound coming out like static. He told them he wanted out and they just cocked their heads then spoke in rapid consultation with each other. Clearly they didn't know how to free him either and he sighed heavily and sat down, watching as they talked.

He might never get out, and it was all thanks to his hubris and his crazy tinkering with things his family said shouldn't be tinkered with. He was always one to push things too far, thinking he was an invincible genius. His colleagues would laugh to see him so humbled.

It was days later, after much talking and arguing with the Guardians, who he learned were Cleora and Zuziah, that they came to the conclusion that his condition seemed to be permanent. He got so mad and despairing that he shorted out the generator and "slept" again.

He was out for a couple more days as they repaired the generator and by that time they had also hooked up more monitors around their workshop, with the help of a tiny Fae named Gizmo that rents space there. He was touched that they would do that, he could now travel around the lab at least and see their projects. Maybe even help, or at least advise if asked. He was so touched he actually apologized for being such a pain. It was a first, he never apologizes.

Now that he was calm again they explained how they had bought up a large haul of salvaged tech from a traveler and his monitor was part of the haul. They figured if it worked they could use it and if not at least they could strip it for parts. But when they turned it on he was there, which shocked them deeply. But they were glad in a way, as now they could try and puzzle out what happened and maybe, possibly (but probably not) figure a way to get him out.

He realized his family had no idea what had happened to him and had thrown the cracked monitor out...they didn't know he was inside it. He keened, the feedback screech that resulted made them wince and he stopped, apologizing for the second time in his life. He watched as they went back to work but he stayed put, too heartbroken to move.

He messed up worse than he thought...but at least he wasn't completely alone.

In multitasking computer operating systems, a Daemon is a computer program that runs as a background process, rather than being under the direct control of an interactive user.
