Sa'mael was hatched into the Plague Flight, but was soon abandoned by his parents, due to being the runt of the litter. He was found by Chilien when she was hunting for insects in the plague flight. She brought him back to her lair and decided to raise the big plague hatchling herself. Albeit how hard she tried to raise him properly, he grew up into being a selfish, arrogant and violent dragon. The runt was long gone.

He eventually challenged Chilien for the leadership of the lair and cursed at her name when she didn't even want to put up an actual fight. She simply stood down and let him take over. The little shred of respect he had for her there, disappeared.

He rules the lair with a tough claw, undermining most of the common breeds and only wishes to talk to anyone of his rarity, really. He is a bad leader in matters of how he treats the dragons in the lair, but he is a good leader on organizing and setting up their lair to something bigger. He quickly brought them all into The Cloudsong, which is an amazing place to live but... Most dragons wish they could leave back to The Zephyr Steppes, if it meant to not live under Sa'mael anymore. Some have fled, but most have stayed, due to the luxury he did bring to the clan.
