"You. Did. WHAT!?" Aries was trembling with rage. The great imperial cowered before her. "I told you to train her! I trusted you!!" Aries advanced toward him and Shorn stumbled over himself to escape the matriarch's wrath.

"I... I... I've found a water dragon for you. One that can fight in the Ghostlight Ruins for you. He's strong Aries, he's beautiful... and he's strong," Shorn fumbled over his words in his rapid attempt to gain favor back with his matriarch. "He's expensive though, but... but he's perfect for us."

"For us? There is no us anymore! You are no longer welcome in the Glass Shatter," Aries turned quickly to her merchants that flanked the imperial. "Well, the water dragon. Is he worth it?" The mirrors nodded in agreement. He was pricey, but worth it. "Fine. We'll buy him. We'll buy him with the money we get from selling you." She pointed at the imperial. "There are plenty of clans that will pay for a coli fighter. Sell him to the first buyer that shows interest. I don't care where he goes. Get. Him. OUT."

"Aries... please! I..." Shorn began to protest. If she had been angry before, he hadn't seen anything yet. His attempts at pleading with her pushed her over the edge. An unearthly growl escaped her and she sprung from the ground. Her wings cut violently in the air as she hovered just inches from Shorn's face. "You do NOT have a say in this! Don't you DARE attempt to speak with me again! I will cut your tongue out myself if I so much as hear one more word out of your mouth. A silent fighter sells for just as much as one that can talk. YOU are the reason my Daenerys has been exalted to the Lightweaver. You were supposed to train her. You were NEVER permitted to send her to another lair for training. You are the reason that I have to travel to the Sunbeam Ruins to try to get her back. And, Shorn, if you are still here when I return, regardless of whether or not I can bring Daernerys home, I will end your life."

Shorn sat back, unable to move, even after Aries had left the scene. The merchants nodded to him, he knew he had to follow. How could he have been so stupid? How could he have thought that Daenerys would be safe training with another clan? His search for a water dragon had kept him away from the coliseum longer than he had intended, and he had feared that Aries would retaliate when she saw how slow Daenerys's training was coming along. It had seemed like a good solution at the time. He had no way of knowing that she would be training during a massive dom push for the light region, that she would be accidentally exalted with the fodder. He would bring her back himself if he could. He didn't know how Aries expected to do it. Gulping back his tears of shame, he followed the merchants. He had lost his home in the Glass Shatter. It was on to the auction block.

Poisonous Ancestor Smoke

Miyako and her sister were inseparable as hatchlings. However, when they grew a bit older, Storm came down with an illness. The doctor said it was something bad, and gave her everything he could, but she ended up passing away by the end of the week. From the on, Miyako grew up only knowing loneliness and depression, the love of a sister fading away within the deepest parts of her heart. A few nights after her sister died, a Shadow Serpent made its way into the nest, and curled up beside her. At first she was alarmed, because of what her mother told her, but as it slithered, a hum seemed to vibrate slightly from its body, making her feel safe. It nuzzled her cheek and from then on they have been inseparable. The parents were too afraid to even try to pull the serpent off, but they soon began to see that it would never hurt Miyako, only the dragons who dare try hurt Miyako. It was overprotective of her, but knew when to give her space.

When she grew up it was time for the parents to send her away to a new clan, however, her parents didn't want to send her away. She was their second born, and the only remaining hatchling that lived from the death of their first born and third born. Miyako's parents moved from their original clan and into the Moonfeather Village. They wanted a fresh start, but Miyako didn't care. She was a walking corpse, who would only come alive during the middle of the night to cry for her lost half.

When she walked into the clan, she met Amaris, and something sparked between them. She didn't know, and for the first time in her life since she was 5 years old, she felt something other than loneliness and depression - she felt fear. Fear of what it could be, fear of what she didn't know. However, Amaris felt this and for the next year and a half, only treated her kindly and gently, slowly gaining her trust and then later on the approval of her snake (who was mostly like a second mother at this point). They were finally official within the second year of his persistence and love, and she returned it double. He didn't know there could be so much love in a person who only felt a few dark emotions all her life. However, that love was only for him, and her snake, and no one else.

Miyako practiced the Art of Poison, and also is currently learning many different languages. She translates for the King and Queen, and makes sure to study the characters and words of each language precisely, to prevent any misunderstandings in the future. Medusa stays with her at all times, and loves to sleep a lot, only waking to eat, drink, or to take care of other things. She also wakes up if she senses danger, to which venom starts to leak from her fangs.
