Biography
VICTOR
Expert Mechanic / Cyborg
Expert Mechanic / Cyborg
Aethar Azoth |
As a child, Victor could have never predicted how his life would turn out. He had a wonderful life, two parents and a growing clan, and a job as a skilled mechanic. Until one night, a nearby clan rivaled with the current warring flight ambushed the clan in the night. Victor's father jumped to battle to protect his mother and him, and Victor's mother grabbed him to flee as his father went down fighting. A large fire-eyed guardian stepped forward and blocked him and his mother's way out of their house. It opened it's mouth and spewed out a vicious torrent of flame, immolating the door and walls of the house. Victor shouted and pushed his mother out of the door frame just as the entire thing collapsed, crushing him instead of her. The searing pain and lack of oxygen in the burning house meant Victor passed out quickly as his mother frantically called for help. Victor awoke later to a blinding white light, and a weird itching pain in his side. Blinking awake, he moved to sit up but was immediately stopped by the large hand of a ridgeback. As the dragon stepped to his side, Victor looked around and saw that he was strapped to a medical table and that his face was bandaged, the rest of his body was blocked by a sheet layed over him. The ridgeback explained that Victor's body had been damaged beyond repair when his body had been crushed in the fire, and that he was a lightning-flight surgeon specialized in cybernetic prosthetics. He'd been able to save Victor's life, but had replaced much of his body with robotic counterparts. When Victor asked if his mother was all right, the doctor gave him a pitying look and informed him that she had left the moment Victor was okay, and that she hadn't left any note as to where she'd gone to. Once Victor recovered, he set out traveling, his heart aching for a home but knowing he couldn't return to the one he was leaving behind. Just as he was prepared to give up on himself, he came across an old robot, turned off and left out in the wilderness. Perplexed, he set to fixing the thing up, not really sure why but knowing he should for some reason. When the creature, no, Aethar was fixed and finally came to life in his hands, eyes blinking as light spilled from them, he grinned and knew that he was back on the path to finding his place in the world. He quickly learned that Aethar wasn't just a robot, she was an incredibly intelligent ai, one that could feel emotions and learn. She was basically a person, in all emotional and mental aspects, and Victor theorized she must have a magic core. Eventually the two came across a small, but growing, valley. Cartico Clan, it was called, and a humming in Victor's bones told him that they should stop and stay, at least for a while. Aethar seemed to want to stay too, and so he settled them in, finding quick mechanic work to help support them. |
