Franky was born to pirates then abandoned as a small child, washing up on Scrap Heap Island at Water 7, where he then built a cannon out of scrap, impressing the master shipwright Tom. Tom took Franky into his company Tom's Workers, and taught him shipbuilding alongside Iceburg. Franky obsessed over making his battleships, the Battle Frankys, despite concerns from Iceburg about their danger. When Tom was put on trial for having built the ship of the pirate king Gold Roger, he could be pardoned if he built the Sea Train that would save the economies of several islands, so Tom's Workers dedicated years of their lives to help save Tom. With the Sea Train "Puffing Tom" finished, the day came for Tom's pardoning, but the Battle Frankys suddenly began attacking the trial, injuring Tom and Iceburg. Confused and distraught, Franky was framed by a corrupt government official who was after Tom's ancient blueprints. Tom told Franky not to be ashamed of his craft and sacrificed himself for Franky's freedom, being taken away on the Puffing Tom. Trying to stop the train, Franky put himself on the track, but was hit and presumed dead. Barely alive, he repaired his body with scrap, becoming a cyborg and the next Battle Franky, deriving his power from bottles of Cola. After losing Tom, Franky and Iceburg had a falling out, with Iceburg going on to become mayor and president of the lead shipbuilding company, while Franky gave up shipbuilding and became an infamous hooligan, blaming himself for Tom's fate. Franky met the Straw Hats when his underlings stole their fortune, which he used to purchase black market logs of the strongest tree in the world, the Adam Tree. After a wild and emotional adventure, he found himself aligning with the Straw Hats against the same corrupt official who had Tom killed. When the Straw Hat's old ship was put to rest, Franky decided to make one last ship and use the logs to create his masterpiece for them. It took a lot of convincing, but Franky finally decided to pursue his dream and accepted Captain Luffy's request to join them as their shipwright. During the two years the Straw Hats were apart, Franky studied the futuristic research at the secret former lab of the world's greatest scientist, Dr. Vegapunk, and upgraded his cybernetics. |

My plans for this dragon, I chose Obelisk because I felt like the Obelisk's body type was close to Franky's, with the bulky arms and torso and smaller waist and legs. I gave him circuit and bred him with lightning eyes to represent his cyborg nature and interest in engineering.
I love Franky so muuchhhhh Water 7 is a God Tier arc
While I prefer his pre timeskip design, I got used to the post timeskip design. Overall I think having his original pompadour elevates his post TS design. Evidenced by the gif. Looking good!
