Biography
Asmodeus
Clan Regent, The Queen
Formerly: Berys
Clan Regent, The Queen
Formerly: Berys
|
Before the Plaguebringer... Berys had been a kind, warmhearted dragon. Though an orphan with no parents, as she was growing up, she had helped care for other hatchlings in her clan, gathered food, and became especially talented in scavenging. In fact, it was what she was used to. It seemed to her that all Tundra were rather amiable; and perhaps being young, she had it in her mind that other breeds of dragon were just as kind and open. It had been a hard choice to leave her family; but when she had matured, she found no interest in the males of her birth clan. She knew within the season, it would be hard to remember her birth clan; but Berys was also eager to leave and begin her own family. Her journey brought her from the Southern Icefield into the Scarred Wasteland. For the first time in her life, she did not feel any friendly presence. There was no warmth here, hardly any life at all. Fear crept into her heart like the plague that crept across the land. Panicked, she hurried into the Wandering Contagion and became lost. Falling through a patch of brambles near a small cliff edge, Berys had fallen almost directly on top of a Guardian dragon sitting in front of his lair. Angry that he had been disturbed, but not overly cruel about it; he had simply told Berys to leave. Instead, she saw something else in the male. For days, she scavenged the Wasteland for food and trinkets to bring to Abbadon. After weeks of trying to get to know the Guardian, it seemed like he had finally warmed up to her. And in the days that she had spent gathering for him, she too had come to love him despite his cold, rough exterior. They lived happily for a short time before Berys was chosen to serve the Plaguebringer. It was a difficult choice, but she left willingly. After the Plaguebringer... When Berys returned, she was no longer the Berys that those who had known her remembered. It had taken some convincing that the creature that returned was Berys at all. She had been twisted, changed by her time with the Plaguebringer. The once kind, gentle Tundra returned a fierce, war-crazed Wildclaw. Her colors remained the same, but with the markings of a dragon who had been touched by sickness and survived. As a testament to the physical and mental changes in her, Berys declared her name Asmodeus once her return to the clan had been finalized. Though Abbadon too had changed in their time apart, their hearts were still for each other. Despite that, there are some in the clan who believe that her "love" is faked and meant only to fool the old leader into bending to her will. ________________________________________________________________________________ "It is finished," Asmodeus gleamed at the vial she held in her claws. "This plague will strengthen our clan, just like when we were in Mother's lands. All these new dragons have tainted our clan." Hati lounged, listening to his mistress. The wolf was well loved by the Wildclaw and rarely had an opinion on her schemes. This time though, he wondered what the repercussions would be exactly. _________________________________________________________________________________ "Asmodeus, you called for me?" DuneWalker entered in a swirl of feathers and bones. Though she was a Plague dragon of some age, her fur was well kempt. "Yes, old friend," The Wildclaw turned a crazed eye to one of her oldest friends. She had known DuneWalker when Asmodeus was still the Tundra called Berys. "My plan is working, but it's working slowly. Help me." "You know how I feel about your schemes and the fights for power within the clan," DuneWalker raised a brow at her and then shook her head. "I remain a neutral force, even at your behest." "Just a touch of your magic. Just a small piece to expand the Plague's horizons." Asmodeus pleaded, her wings falling about her. "I beg of you. Help me help the clan. We are weak. We will surely fall if we cannot strengthen the survivors and cut out the weak." DuneWalker studied Asmodeus for a long moment, a claw pulling at the whiskers on her chin. "Your words ring true. You sincerely believe that you're doing this for the clan." "I am. Everything I do is for them." Asmodeus hissed. "They know nothing. They have not seen what horrors await the weak. But I... I survived. And so will this clan." "I will twist your Plague for you," DuneWalker spoke softly, conjuring magic about her claws. "But make sure that you do not regret it later." Adopt by Omalleycat |
