After the ambush, and during Matriarch Law's hospitalization, Ward transferred Seco over to Law.

The transfer ensured that Law's vital organs did not fail and revived the spiritual/mental/physical life-line that connected dragon and human.

However, Seco was just a hatchling at the time of the transfer. His power was just enough to keep Law alive, but this link allowed ample amount of time for Law to subconsciously revive her shattered Flight affinity.

Seco is the saviour.
