Breeding and selling is a pretty decent way to get treasure/gems in too. I listen to podcasts or watch movies while I level dragons usually and it takes some of tedium out of it.

Windmill is on a nest at the moment but I don't mind giving him up after that (He should be free in 3 days. If I remember to incubate :D ). Happy to take 15kt or 15g or a replacement fodder dragon :>

Hello! The most basic purpose of exalting is that it is primarily one of the best ways to make treasure in the game. Especially if you exalt levelled dragons (training them up to level 5/6/7 nets you a decent amount of treasure). Exalting is also how flights win dominance for the week. The more the flight exalts, the higher they move up the dominance board and win. Winning dominance comes with benefits for the entire flight. Such as extra gathering turns, extra daily treasure, marketplace discounts etc. Also we all have limited lair space/hibernal den space so sometimes exalting is a way to free up that space for more pretty dragons.

Canonically, the lore in the game states that a dragon being exalted is the highest honour they can receive as they go to serve their Deity. Some lairs/clans have different versions of this depending on their lore. I'm a pretty casual player so I don't exalt as much as I used to. Its a steady source of easy income for me. :)
