If I bought your dragon and it's in the Trainees tab, it'll be trained and exalted. If I bought your dragon to be trained and you'd like it back, I'll sell it back to you for the price I bought it for- unless it's a higher level, then it'll be more expensive based on their level. Unnamed fodder will be named before being exalted.
Don't be afraid to ask to buy it back!
