What'cha gonna be for Halloween?
Storyweaver's Clan
Clan Info
What's new in the clan this week:
"Kelp Beds," Grayson grunted, a haunted look coming over him. "A place of terror. A place of horrendous crimes against dragonkind. Isn't that right, Stirling?"
Stirling looked up, surprised to be addressed. "What? Oh, Kelp Beds. No, I don't like that venue. It's too hard."
"Hard?" Grayson scoffed, shooting a dramatic look at his audience. "That word doesn't even begin to describe the terrors of the Kelp Beds! Monsters crawl up out of the shadowy depths with powers unrivaled by those of any creature on land. Except maybe in the Golem Workshop. I've never actually been there. But they creep! They crawl! They swim! The mammertees, all the members of the Maren Beastclans, and worst of all... the Mantarune. The Wave Sweeper."
The dragons gathered around him were frozen in their fascination, wide eyes reflecting the flickering fire.
Grayson bowed his head under the weight of painful memories. "Stirling and I have fought many, many battles in the Coliseum. We've won some. We've lost some. But in the end, we're fighters. We are hardened veterans of the Coliseum, Stirling and I. For months and months we struggled to reach Level 25. But we did it! There's hardly a land-dwelling creature that could defeat us in a fight. But we don't last more than a round, maybe two, in the Kelp Beds. And we've never, ever defeated a Mantarune or a Wave Sweeper. That's how horrible the Kelp Beds are."
"Excuse us! Make some room, please! Coming through!"
"Hey!" Grayson scowled at the dragons interrupting his story. "Go somewhere else with your noisy-- Impa, what in the name of the Almighty Windsock is THAT?"
Impa paused, momentarily dropping the giant, dripping carcass she'd been attempting to drag through the lair. Groose and Hylia also dropped their respective parts, panting. "Oh, this?" Impa asked, shaking water from her Shadowscale Armor. "That's a Wave Sweeper. We just beat it in the Kelp Beds! It'll go great with the Mantarune we beat earlier today."
"What?" Grayson bellowed. "How could you beat that thing? You're not even at Level 25!"
"No," Impa said, "but as of five minutes ago, we're at Level 24!"
Groose grinned. "Not bad for having started battling about two weeks ago, eh, Pops?"
Grayson scowled. "Hurmph." He turned and grumped out of the room.
The Story So Far
Shay, a female azure Guardian, left home to find the charge she was destined to protect all her life. She dug out a small lair in the Zephyr Steppes, which quickly attracted the attention of a bumbling and lazy male Guardian named Grayson. Charmed by Grayson's compliments, Shay allowed him to stay. One by one, they ran across outcast dragons that they adopted into their clan. Between the adopted dragons and everybody's hatchlings, the clan has grown considerably since its inception. The dragons kept expanding the lair to accommodate their growing family, but one day they ran out of room. The clan relocated to the Reedcleft Ascent, where they are all living luxuriously and happily.
Notable Dragons
Shay and Grayson are the clan's leaders (although it's mostly just Shay, because Grayson takes naps most of the time). Nimbus is the clan's resident troublemaker and enjoys leading a pack of the clan's hatchlings and younger dragons in adventures of mischief. Three of Shay and Grayson's children are particularly well-known among the clan members. Faron is the oldest. She grew up hatchling-sitting for all the dragons and now handles clan affairs as Shay delegates them to her. Hylia astounds the clan with a wisdom beyond her age and a singing voice that is very popular among the clan's hatchlings. Impa teaches hunting and fighting techniques to dragons of all ages. Despite Grayson's reluctance to let her fight in the Coliseum, she swears she'll be a champion there someday. Eulalia is one of Shay's closest friends and works with her mate, Dendrobates, to teach the common Draconic tongue to her fellow Coatls. Drymarchon joined the clan after his own clan in the Shadow Flight became a bit crowded and enjoys teaching his Wind friends about Shadow culture. Many dragons tell him that he looks gorgeous, which makes him tie himself into embarrassed knots, but he is happy to be such an appropriate mascot for the Shadow Flight.

Hey! Storyweaver here. I joined Flight Rising in the November 2014 registration window, so I'm still a teensy bit new-ish compared to some of the veterans on this site, but by now, I've figured out what's what. I love writing backstories for my various dragons, and I do my best to keep them updated. I'm going to try to write daily or weekly stories about what my dragons are up to in this very information box. Feel free to drop me a line and say hi! I enjoy meeting new people!

Thank you. I do not like crystal. But when I saw him I was like MINE. I was thinking of underbelly on him though to tine him down a little.
Illuminations has a damn great story.
Not a problem! I just wanted her to go to a good home, and it looks like she did :)
