RunicLight's Clan

In the darkest corners of the Promenade, lies a mysterious dragoness. She tells of an old clan, that makes its home within a dark city, yet thrives in the light.

Their lair is found inside the Hewn City, within a forgotten structure like a tower, that spirals down in a broken staircase that seems to go downwards forever at first glance.

Go further in, and you shall discover an underground city of ruins. The Runic Light Clan's Keep. A secret lair, dedicated to the progression of runic magic, and the safeguarding of ancient secrets of light.



A mysterious magic, drawing upon the element of light, to weave into powerful spells. Runes are way of channeling one's magic into more efficient and powerful spells.

Whilst all elements can be channeled into runes, this tribe deals with the art of constructing ruins based on spells of light.

Runes may be written on scrolls, or into a dragon's scales. Runes on an object are exhausted in one spell, but can be used by any dragon, and can keep rather big spells within them if written correctly.

Runes on dragons draw upon one's own energy, so rune-inscribed dragons must already have some sort of magical prowess. Runes help a dragon enhance their natural abilities, or, by tracing their magical symbol, help them cast spells that they couldn't otherwise (like an arcane dragon casting a light spell).

Incorrectly scribing runes can make a spell backfire, make it much weaker or stronger than intended, have unusual side effects, or worse yet, completely destroy the dragon casting the runes.


This clan has two main purposes: Progressing the art of magic, particularly in finding new runes to enhance draconic abilities and the like, and to protect light artifacts and secrets that lie deep within the ruins.

Noctis, using the runes she was taught by her grandfather, started to teach others their way. Small gatherings of arcanists gained into a large gathering of hunters, mages, archaeologists and scribes alike.

The interest in ancient magic is strong, and is what keeps this clan situated in the darkened Hewn City, prowling the streets for magic, sometimes travelling quite far to progress knowledge, or to meet other dragons.

A few artifacts of ancient heritage lie in the ruined tower. These are only known to the highest order of the clan, the Alphas. They alone strive to protect these important fonts of runic and arcane energy, for if they fall into the wrong talons, trouble may arise.
