NewHope's Clan

Entry 1

I remember the day clearly, though I was but a hatchling. The Mirrors swarmed over everything like a tide, like locusts, and like locusts they consumed everything they touched. The red of their eyes is burned into my mind. When the air is still and quiet, I can hear the scratch of their talons on the stone again. The squeal of their teeth into bone.

Though I was not the only survivor at first, they brought sickness with them. I was but a hatchling, and not a strong one. I cannot begin to fathom why I was spared it and the others were not.

Now I am alone. For a time I had hidden myself, frightful, waiting for the death that seemed so inevitable in the light of all that I have seen. At night I ran from the memories that hound me with red eyes, and each day I have found myself seeing the sun rise on a new place, unknown to me. This, too, is frightening.

But it is Light that I am born to. I have prayed to the Lightweaver, and though she is silent, I feel her warmth and presence in this new place that I have found myself in my wanderings, and in that presence I find resolve to begin anew, a new clan in a new home, to honor those who have been lost. I am but one fae, and young, not even named, and not wise in the ways of the world. I am in every way unextraordinary and unworthy to have lived. And yet I cannot help but think that the Lightweaver would not have spared me had she not intended me to move forward.

I give myself the name Dawn, for this is my new beginning, rising out from the darkness that came before.

This shall be my New Hope.

RULES
1. Dragons cannot be bought, only hatched.
2. Only one egg can be bought per month.
3. Scatter scrolls cannot be used on dragons below level 25
4. A dragon cannot be given a primary gene until level 10, secondary until level 15, and tertiary gene until level 20.
5. One breed change may be purchased for every egg found gathering or in the coliseum, but at no other time.
6. Food cannot be gained through gathering, only the coliseum.
7. Exalt for coliseum death.
8. For every hatchling, flip a coin. If tails, the hatchling has died, exalt.

BONUS ROUND!
1. Due to the disaster that wiped out Dawn’s birth clan, I must immediately exalt all Plague or Mirror Dragons.
2. A dragon who ends a coliseum battle bleeding, poisoned, burned, or with a virus cannot battle for the rest of the day. Roll a die. On a 1-3, the dragon recovers fully with rest and can battle again the next day. On a 4-5, they recover but are permanently handicapped in some way and cannot battle again. On a 6, they succumb and die, exalt.

DOUBLE JEOPARDY!
If a dragon ends a battle with a virus, roll a second die. On a roll of 1, another random dragon in the clan is infected and must receive recovery and infection rolls of their own.]]
