CLAN HAVEN

Young and impulsive, Anilise often clashed with her parents until finally after a fight that ended in an explosion of epic magnitude she left the only home she had ever known at only twenty to found her own clan and never looked back. Her youth made it difficult to gain respect as a leader, but her tenacious nature meant she never stopped trying until she made Clan Haven not only a recognised name but a respected one in the Starfall Isles.

Her heir was her granddaughter, Inina, a fact her son Alroy resented; when Inina rejected his challenge he took it to Anilise herself. It was one she easily won, but she was forced to exile her own son and stepped down as leader- but not before finding a suitable replacement.

Myro disagreed with many of the decisions of the leaders of her birth clan, but had nowhere to go until Anilise approached her. She leapt at the opportunity to lead her own clan, leaving the one she hated so much without hesitation. Amelia, one of the hatchlings, followed her- instead of sending her home she brought her with her. Amelia was raised alongside Haven’s hatchlings and made Myro’s heir when she came of age, a promising warrior even as a child who quickly became the best the clan had to offer.

Myro’s ascension did not go smoothly, many feeling an outsider had no place leading the clan, but her rule was largely without incident- until the Shadetouched started converging on Haven’s home.

The easy-going clan became hard under siege, even the gentlest of them picking up swords, and an entire generation grew up knowing nothing but war. Clan Haven fled to the Sea of a Thousand Currents, going from a well-established and respected clan to refugees with nothing in the process.

In Fishspine Reef the balance of power shifted; always the mages had been the strongest of the clan, but their magic was diminished away from the Arcane energies that powered them and Amelia’s warriors were at the forefront of the clan’s defence- a militia which was not truly needed any longer but which the clan did not feel secure enough to disband.

Just as they were adjusting to peace once more, the curse of Imperials struck and Myro died in her prime and at the height of her popularity. Amelia stepped up in her role as heir and took the clan home- but moved them to the Hoverpoint Vale rather than returning to the Starwood Strand.

Despite her grief of the woman who might as well have been her mother and her youth Amelia is a competent leader and well-loved by Clan Haven. The matter of succession is not as clear, however; her daughter and heir Kennedy does not wish to lead and Anilise’s daughter Bethany does. With Anilise’s blood and her own headstrong nature backing Bethany’s claim and Myro’s and Amelia’s well-respected leadership backing Kennedy’s reluctant one, the clan is unsure whether power will return to Anilise’s family or not…
