You find yourself looking at what looks like an abandoned forest temple deep in the wilds of the viridian labyrinth, the front has what looks like old foo dog statues sitting at the door. Looking inside you see nothing of interest, and did that statue just move? Oh well leaving seems like a good idea.
But that was no mere abandoned temple its a thriving well lived in lair that many dragons and other creators inhabit. Very complicated magic is in play to make their home not only look much smaller than it is, but to also make it look like it had been abandoned for 100's of years. Only dragons who live there or know someone who lives there are able to see the place for what it really is. And yes the foo dogs at the door will spring to life if one is persistent enough trying to enter the place when they stumble apon it.
The lair its self is quite large and has many above ground rooms, many of them open air, and has many enclosed gardens. Most of the above ground rooms have trees and other plants growing in them. There is one very tall tower that reaches above the trees into the sky allowing dragons who wish to study the sky or,simply escape the cover of the trees to feel the wind on their faces have somewhere to go. There is also a large expanse of underground rooms and tunnels. Many of these rooms are nice and clean and fairly modern looking. Because of the trees the lair is naturally fairly dark, but this problem is solved by capturing pure sunlight into special glass objects. They are then brought inside and hung on the walls. The light brought in not only helps illuminate but also helps the plants grow and prosper.
The temple was not found abandoned by the dragons that live in it now. It was indeed built by them over many many years. The location it was built was stumbled apon by early founders of the clan. They decided this is where their home was to be. And this spot was chosen because they found a strange and very ancient pedestal with a beautiful sunstone placed in it. And they so happened to be there at the one time of year that the stone miraculously bloomed into a beautiful golden flower. They were so amazed by the beauty of this seemed miracle that they built their home around this stone and named their clan after it.
The stone now sits at the very center of the lair. No one is allowed to disturb it and it is guarded very carefully. The day it blooms there is always a special celebration, and very fancy dinner. the stone is seen as a minor god to the clan, and it shown the same respect that they show the Gladekeeper. It is still unknown where the stone came from, and who or what may have made it.
