The guards of the clan, they hunt, they fight, they keep the clan alive. They defend the nest and the protected, the little baby dragons and weak adults, who cannot defend themselves. They care about how they look, when an ugly child is born, it get exalted, they do not tolerate an unattractive addition to their porcelain set.

The children that get sent off don't even get a chance to prove that they are useful. At birth, the council determines who stays and who leaves. Some council members are against this, but are afraid to be put up to trial if they voice their fears.

Wingaloo, Luna, Skif, Barlow, and Julius, all are powerful members of the council. they have each borne children, and most got pushed away. The clan frowned upon the council breeding, so they didn't accept the children. The children that were able to escape, before being exalted, ran away across the Scarred Wastelands.
