ShadowStarDragon's Clan

This is the ShadowStar Dragon Clan, located deep in the Crystalline Caverns within the Crystalspine Reaches on the Starfall Isles. Founded by Kylara the matriarch, the clan has grown much from it's humble beginnings as many dragon breeds from far and wide have settled beneath the roof of the Crystalline Caverns.

To accompany the vast number of dragons, the clan has expanded from a few amber nests meant only for a small fae dragon family to incorporating the caves below as nesting grounds and homes for many dragons. As each dragon grows, they find their place within the clan through the Calling, where they join one of the job factions who work together to keep the clan running. These factions are ran by the Taskmasters, dragons handpicked by Kylara herself, to head the factions and report to her.

Even though the ShadowStar clan has settled well, the caverns still hold much mystery and danger. Those who venture too deep may find themselves.... Altered. Sometimes the altering is simply superficial like a change in markings. However it may also be more severe. The biggest threat to the ShadowStar Clan is a faction of dragons marked by eyes along their bodies known only as the Mad. The Mad seem to have been altered in both body and mind, driven to the point of insanity, searching for what they call the Sphere of Oblivion. With a name like that it's lucky that they have yet to find it but even so, their search has brought chaos to the ShadowStar clan.

It's believed that the sphere may be responsible for these alterations. Stranger still yet more benevolent are the Runemarked, the Crystal Sages and the Ancients. The Runemarked are those who have glowing runes along their bodies. The runes seen to have some kind of protective effect as these dragons seldom get sick and seem protected from the effects of the Sphere. The Crystal Sages on the other hand are those with crystal hides who have bonded with the cave and are attuned to it's wellbeing. They believe they were generated in response to the Sphere as a way to protect the cave. And finally there are the Ancients, dragon species who have not been seen since the dawn of time yet for some reason are here now.

Whether this is also the Sphere's influence is unknown. Despite the challenges they have faced, the ShadowStar clan still remains strong. Each dragon has carved their own path and written their own story for the world to see.
