THE SYMBOL OF THE CITADEL

Ancient tombs and abandoned buildings litter the pathway ahead of you. Deathly silence, occasionally broken by a rumble of the breaking buildings that surround you, as if you are somewhere you don’t belong. You are unwelcome here. A constant cool breeze keeps your head clear, however. It keeps out the anxieties. Where are you? How did you get here? Several questions rumble within your head. Though one thing is certain, you have finally made your way to the citadel. Miles down below the citadel are the only civilization nearby. Here reside only those favored by the dieties, sent on a special mission. Retrieve the hidden artifacts and secrets of this strange, constantly shifting world. A memento of their work.

The air up here is thick, which is unusal for something this high up. It clogs your lungs. For many, the mountain where the citadel is built is unfavorable for many. Hence is why normal dragons rarely climb the mountain to offer to the tombs or directly to their chosen dragon which they worship.
The truest have thousands of dragons that look up to them but the ones that reside inside the mountain, by the Neverlight lagoon; the Truests deciples and the most loyal of followers. The Neverlight lagoon is powered constantly day and night by the chosen. The flowing waters emit a luminescent glow, contrary to the dark surroundings of the dark cave.

Where the waters flow from the Neverlight lagoon go all the way down to the valley of Pranvera, located right beside the mountain- connected through a waterfall which runs down directly from the lagoon’s edge. The further away the water goes from the dark, however, the less the glow can be seen. Many dragons from near and far travel to the valley of Pranvera to witness the waters in the beautiful night.
The further east you go you’ll eventually meet with the valley’s end by a cliff where you can look over the large ocean which lies right ahead. What you do not know, however, is that right underneath you, lies a grotto forgotten to time…

The spiral grotto got its name for its intricate carvings upon the walls and strange rock formations in the shape of a spiral which hold the glowing waters all the way from the Neverlight lagoon. Here reside a secret society, lost to history. There are no recordings of this society and the few which know only pass it on from mouth-to-mouth. It is seen as nothing more than a rumor, a legend, or even a myth.
