Alright since I don't have much lore written out, here's a "quick" summary, which I'll separate into older and newer lore (I'll put a tl:dr/bullet points + extra tidbits version at the bottom):
older lore:
In the past, Foxglove's home was raided by a group of thieves/bandits from a large somewhat well-known organization in plague territory where she lived, and they took an old enchanted family heirloom. Foxglove and her then partner followed the thieves to try and get it back. She managed steal the heirloom back, but was then found by the organizations leader. He captured Foxgloves partner and she was forced to flee, but now the leader was determined to find her and take back what is "rightfully his".
As she couldn't back to her original home, since the thieves knew where that was, she fled deep into the Abiding Boneyard, where even plague dragons could get terribly lost. After she was sure she wasn't being followed, she looked for a place to lay low, and found a solitary den inhabited by a lone tundra named Arnica, who agreed to let her stay for a while.
A couple years pass uneventfully, Foxglove has moved on and started a family with Arnica, and now, new dragons are showing up and deciding to stay. Soon a small clan is formed. And then a bigger clan.
But then, word gets to Foxglove that the thieves might know where the clan is located. Now responsible for a whole clan, Foxglove is certain that confronting the organization would be catastrophic. She decides the best choice is once again to flee. But if the Abiding Boneyard wasn't hidden enough, then where? How about a different territory altogether? And so the decision was made, and the clan set off for shadow territory.
Newer lore:
After traveling through shadow territory for weeks, they find something strange. As they were walking, one of the dragons seemed to fall through solid ground. as the group stared at where that dragon once was, the ground seemed to ripple and fade, revealing a large crater with ruins of a city within. After looking around, they found the city extended further underground as well. the clan decides to camp here for a few days, but that soon ends up becoming a few weeks, then months, then they decided to stay permanently.
As they explore their new home, they find many curious things. Mainly, many art pieces (wall art, carvings, statuettes...) depicting... Not quite a dragon, but something closely resembling a starry dragon that seemed to be a protector of the city. Some of the drawings on the walls were painted over or scratched out, with faded, illegible text next to them.
More time passes, more dragons show up and decide to stay, and then, one night, in the sky above the city, a shooting star was seen. But it didn't disappear, and it seemed to be getting bigger. Before a the clan could be alerted, it landed. It didn't crash, it just slowed down and landed on the ground at the center of the city.
As the clan gathered to see, the starry shape shifted and slowly, took the rough form of a young, starry skydancer. It looked around, then turned to the watching dragons and asked what happened to the city? Who were these new faces? where were the dragons it knew? how long it had been gone? No one alive today knew the answers.
end of lore for now
Shorter/bullet points version:
-Fae steals something that was stolen from her and now the thieves are like "we can't let her get away with that" and are hunting her
-said fae runs into the Abiding Boneyard and tries to live a normal life, ends up running a small clan
-thief leader guy™ finds out where said clan is so the clan moves to shadow territory instead
-finds a cool town in shadow territory that totally didn't have a cult living there and is totally not haunted
-(some guy who sees ghosts shows up and is like "this place is full of ghosts why did you choose to live here")
-the clan keeps finding art of some maybe dragon made of stars
-eventually said maybe dragon falls from the sky and is like "wow where is everyone what happened to the city I haven't been gone that long right haha" (its been hundreds of years)
the end for now until I think of more
