Relationship to other clans: As a new member of the Light Flight, Clan Lightwarden has yet to establish any serious ties to other clans.
Relationship to other flights: Clan Lightwarden does maintain a friendly relationship with one clan of the Lightning Flight - the clan that runs the Thundercloud Hatchery. Rumors are occasionally whispered of a familial connection between these clans, but Mordeyrin has so far remained stubbornly silent when questioned about the matter.
Story: Born to a clan of the Water Flight in Fishspine Reef, Mordeyrin always felt like an outsider. He never could quite put into words why he felt this way, but he always knew he was different from his brothers and sisters. He first felt the calling of the Light when his clan traveled to the Sundial Terrace for a Midsummer festival. The festival itself held little interest for him. His curiosity took over and he wandered the area until he stumbled upon a scholarly debate between 3 clans of the Light flight. For hours he listened, enraptured by the discourse. Suddenly he knew what was different about him. As a Guardian, he had been told since birth that it would be his mission to find a person, place or thing deserving his protection and then devote every bit of his energy to guarding it. He knew now that he was meant to guard something different - an ideal, the pursuit of knowledge.
When he came of age and began his search, he started off in the direction of the Sundial Terrace - or at least, so he thought (his sense of direction having never been all that good). Instead of finding the Sundial Terrace, he mistakenly stumbled into the shadows of the Tangled Wood. While trying to find his way, he came across a scene that filled him with anger. A young female Mirror dragon who had recently left the Scarred Wasteland in search of her own calling was being tormented by the servants of the Shadowbinder. Enraged at what he perceived to be the mistreatment of an innocent - and somehow sensing a kindred spirit - he leapt to her rescue. Tenaciously chasing off all who bothered her, he guarded the one known as Silverbell as she guided him through the darkness. Through the course of their journey, they discovered a shared sense of curiosity. When he told her of his childhood experience at the Sundial Terrace, she revealed that to be her destination as well. She had always heard stories but never witnessed the festival. Finally arriving at their destination, it became clear to both of them that they had found their purposes - his to dedicate himself to guardianship of the Lightweaver, her servants and their pursuit of knowledge and hers to provide him with the heirs to ensure that such guardianship will never falter.
